The Belfry Hotel & Resort in brief
The Belfry is a large resort hotel on the edge of Sutton Coldfield, sitting within hundreds of acres of parkland. It is best known for golf — the estate has staged the Ryder Cup more often than any other course in the world — but it works just as well for spa breaks, conferences and family weekends.
Road links are excellent: the M42 is minutes away, Birmingham International Airport is a short taxi ride, and central Birmingham can be reached in well under half an hour by car. Parking on site is free for residents.
Getting there
The resort sits just off junction 9 of the M42, which makes it unusually easy to reach from London, Manchester and the South West. Birmingham International rail station and airport are around a quarter of an hour away by taxi, while Birmingham New Street provides direct trains across the country.
Rooms & suites
Bedrooms are split between classic rooms in the original building and more contemporary wings. Standard rooms come with the expected essentials — flat-screen TV, tea and coffee tray, hairdryer and a work desk. Superior rooms add more space, and many look over the fairways. Suites offer king-size beds, separate lounge areas and, in some cases, private balconies.
Eat & drink
There is a choice of places to eat, from a relaxed brasserie and lively sports bar to a more polished dining room. A clubhouse terrace is the obvious spot for a drink after a round, and afternoon tea is served in the lounge most days.
Leisure & wellness
Three distinct golf courses are the headline, supported by a driving range and coaching academy. Away from the greens, the leisure club has an indoor pool, a well-equipped gym, sauna and steam rooms, while the spa offers a full treatment menu.
